Fibromyalgia Monthly Newsletter
Fibromyalgia Newsletter – May 2004
Remember: May 12 is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day!
During the past month, I had the opportunity to meet many people who have been relieved of their fibromyalgia symptoms. I want to share with you what these people did and why it is working for them.
The Role of Concentrated Nutrition in Relieving the Pain of Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia pain comes on because the nervous system is in a constant state of stress, and this stress is affecting the muscles, making them hypersensitive to pain. When we reduce nervous system stress we can lessen the constant pain found in fibromyalgia. But how do we get the nutrients the nervous system needs on a daily basis, and how do we know when it is working?
In my office I measure levels of free radicals in the urine. This measurement is a sign of the cellular damage currently being brought on by free radicals. Using bioavailable antioxidants expels these free radicals. Even when many of my new clients believe they are getting an acceptable level of antioxidants from their diet and supplements; they are amazed to find that their level of free radicals is still high. They may blame it on mental or emotional stress, but even this stress has to be reduced, or more physical cell damage will occur. If you are interested in doing this urine test, you can order the kit to measure your free radical level at www.NaturalChoicesForYou.com under Free Radical Test Kit.
Concentrated Whole Food Nutritional Supplements
If you are taking an antioxidant supplement and are not finding that it is helping your fibromyalgia symptoms, you may want to find another supplement. My favorite one, that has helped the most people on a consistent basis, is concentrated fruits and vegetable capsule . It is made from ripe fruit and vegetable juice powders that contain a wide variety of antioxidants, minerals, B-vitamins and enzymes all together in one nutritional supplement. You can find out more about it at www.juiceplus.com/+jo01683.
Juice Plus has been tested through double-blind placebo controlled testing and been found to reduce free radical levels an average of 75% in just one month. The quality, more than the quantity, of antioxidants is what is important. It is better to take a whole food antioxidant formula than any one type of antioxidant from a vitamin source, like vitamins A, C, or E. New research is showing that single antioxidants are not effective in reducing cellular damage, but high quality whole food supplements that contain hundreds of different phytochemicals and antioxidants can make a difference.
When should you take your antioxidants? Ideally to reduce the level of free radicals created during our regular meals we should take our antioxidants just before our main meals. So if you eat 3 meals a day, it is beneficial to spread out your concentrated whole food antioxidant capsules to support the metabolism during each meal.
This month, as I was promoting my book, I had the opportunity to meet many people who have been taking Juice Plus+, and since they have taken it, have noticed their fibromyalgia symptoms improve or be totally eliminated. This is because they were finally feeding their nervous system the nutrition that it can use to rebuild and repair the stressed tissues.
May 12 is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day! Look for news articles and events in your area relating to fibromyalgia. Use this day to begin creating the changes you need to improve your health so Fibromyalgia pain is no longer affecting your daily life.
